Publishing industry for Spanish as a Foreign Language
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article describes the textbooks which are currently on the market for teaching Spanish as a foreign language to children : How many are there ? What are the main publishers? What ages are these textbooks aimed at ? What is the methodology used ? After making an overview of all the textbooks, three of them are analysed: SGEL's El mundo de Valentina (for children from 3 to 7 years old), Klett's ¡Vamos al circo! and ¡Vamos al cole! (for children from 6 to 10) and Trotamundos (useful for children over 10). The study also considers commercial aspects, such as prices, formats and (free or not) access to online platforms.
