Abstract

Studies on masculinities have experienced significant growth, exploring intersectional theories and practices to deconstruct hegemonic masculinities in diverse contexts. This work systematically reviews the evidence on alternative masculinities in the socioeducational field. Through the Web of Science, Scopus, and Psycinfo databases, 34 studies were identified that analyze identity characteristics, relationships, intersectionality, and educational strategies to transform hegemonic masculine identity. The findings highlight the effectiveness of narrative pedagogy and the role of facilitators in creating safe spaces and managing emotions. The need for an intersectional and multilevel approach is emphasized to understand the complexity of contemporary masculinities and to implement feminist and socially just interventions.
