Abrir paso a las masculinidades gais en la Traductología / Opening the Way to Gay Masculinities in Translation Studies

Resumen
El presente trabajo constituye una propuesta teórica en torno a las categorías traducción y género con la finalidad de establecer la masculinidad como una posición de género relevante para la investigación traductológica. La revisión de la teoría aborda inicialmente el solapamiento entre los conceptos feminismo, género y mujer en los estudios de traducción. A partir de ello, se elabora sobre la noción de masculinidad para establecer su capacidad analítica y crítica en relación con el sistema sexo/género. Luego se trabaja la noción de la performatividad y la manera en que dicho concepto ha sido incorporado en la traductología, lo que ha permitido a su vez problematizar la sexualidad y revelar la capacidad performativa de la traducción. Finalmente, se presenta una noción de la subjetivación gay que permite justificar la pertinencia de estudiar las masculinidades gais en el marco de la traductología.

Abstract
This article is a theoretical proposal about the categories translation and gender and aims at establishing masculinity as a relevant gender position for translation research. First, the review of the theory addresses how the concepts of feminism, gender and woman have overlapped in Translation Studies. Then, the notion of masculinity is explained to reveal its analytical and critical potential regarding the sex/gender system. The article also includes a section about performativity and how this concept has been incorporated into translation research, which in turn has allowed to problematize sexuality and highlight the performative capacity of translation. Finally, the notion of gay subjectivation is introduced to justify the relevance of studying gay masculinities within the framework of Translation Studies.
