The Work of the Images in the New Digital Intimacy: Inequality Scenarios

Main Article Content

Andrea Corrales Devesa

Abstract

This article critically reviews techno-social and legislative elements that give context to the ecosystems of platformization and commercialization of activities bordering the work system where intimacy plays a fundamental role. The analysis proposes unequal starting point regard to highly feminized populations that make use of technologies and platforms for the exchange of goods and services without an employment relationship, especially those that produce sexual or erotic visual materials. The article offers a critique of the barriers in the access to digital rights and a reading, from the particularity of the online environment, of the current proposals for legislative reforms regarding the outsourcing of services in the image creation sector.
