Why the Feminist Project Is Feared: Masculinity and Nostalgia as a Far Right-Wing Strategy

Abstract
Currently, the feminist project coexists with two types of opposing discourses: those that prioritize and divide social demands between material and cultural struggles, and those that discourses that legitimize the reappearance of the far right-wing in the democratic arena. Thus, the main objective of this article is to analyze how these discourses impact on the ideals and gender representations of young people who are trained in a historically and culturally masculinized context, such as the Vocational Training of Transport and Vehicle Maintenance. Methodologically, an ethnographic study was conducted over two academic years in the city of València, within an educational institution offering this specific training. The analysis presented is based on biographical interviews conducted with the students. Among other conclusions, we highlight the importance of nostalgia as an element that allows a collective and individual identification with these epistemological positions.
