Abstract

At the end of the eighteenth century and during the nineteenth century, the trade guilds of the city of Zacatecas and, later, the state government, provided technical training to the popular sectors with the aim of providing artisans and skilled workers to the manufacturing industrial sector. This formation was also oriented to the beneficence and moralization of the poor, orphans and "badly entertained" (lazy) sectors. The objective is to explain the process of transition from the formative-practical pedagogical model of the craft workshops to the modern pedagogical model of a theoretical-professional nature given in the workshops-school at the beginning of the twentieth century.
