As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The text complies with the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Guidelines for authors, which can be found in this same section, below.
  • The submission has not been previously published or previously submitted to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the editor).
  • The submitted file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • Web addresses have been added for reference where possible.
  • The text has single line spacing; font size is 12 points; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URL addresses); and all the illustrations, figures and tables are within the text in the place that corresponds to them and not at the end of the whole.
  • In the third step of the manuscript submission process, enter the metadata of the article (title, abstract, keywords, language, discipline, funding schedule, citations, etc.)

GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS

The manuscripts submitted must be original and unpublished. To send it, you must access our website, which is managed by the OJS system, as a registered user. After registering, you can submit the manuscript in the "Submissions" section or through this link. You can also review the video tutorial that explains how the shipment should be made.

They must deal with topics in the fields of history, geography and art history. The manuscripts should have between 8.000 and 10.000 words. Manuscripts could be sent in Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, English or Portuguese. The first page should contain the following information: title of the article in Spanish/Catalan and English, followed by the name and surname(s) of the author(s), the institution they belong to and an e-mail address. A 80–100 words abstract written in the language of the article and in English, or Spanish if English is the language of the article, and should include 4 or 5e keywords in the same languages.

The call to the footnote in the text always will go after the punctuation.

We recommend that inclusive language be used in the writing of the article.

Only two levels of subheadings will be accepted for the body of the article. The first-level heading should be written in boldface and lowercase. If authors use second-level subheadings, they will be boldfce, lowercase, but italicised.

A short biographical data of the article’s author(s) (maximum, 80 words) should be also provided.

If the article includes tables, graphs or other figures, these should be appropriately numbered by indicating their location in the text, and foot referenced. The photo captions should acknowledge authorship, as well as the work title, date and location, when appropriate.

Notes should be sorted numerically in the text and should be inserted at the foot of the page. The author/date text citation system can also be used.

The images should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi, and will be published in black and white.

The bibliography, in case, should be presented at the end of the article. The citation system to be used for references both in the footnotes and in the final section should be as follows:

SURNAME, Name of the author(s) (year of edition), Book title, publisher, place of publication, pages (p./pp.).

SURNAME, Name of the author(s) (year of edition), “Article title”, Journal name, journal number or volume, pages (p./pp.).

Examples:

In successive aforementioned literature citations will be used SURNAME, Book title or “Title of article” or “Chapter title” for short.

 

Editorial process information

Authors will be confirmed by email upon receipt of an original within 30 days and, within a maximum period of 6 months, if the work is accepted or rejected for publication. Through the OJS system of our journal, the authors can monitor the evaluation and acceptance/rejection process.

The originals received will undergo a first review by the Editor of the issue and, once this phase is over, they will be sent to two specialists who will act as external reviewers through the double-blind system. These specialists will be appointed by the Editorial Board. After having received the requested reports and based on their content, the Editorial Board will make the decision to publish the papers or not, and the Editor in Chief, on behalf of the Editorial Board, will communicate his decision to the authors of the manuscripts. originals. The communication sent by the Editor in Chief will include instructions for improving the text, if the content of the reports commissioned so advises.

Once it has been accepted for publication, the final manuscript will be sent by the Editor of the issue, together with the rest of the accepted manuscripts, to the number to which the Editorial Board has assigned, to carry out its layout and subsequently send it to the printer.

All our numbers are published periodically on a semi-annual basis, in the months of December and June.

 

Guidelines for the authors in the correct preparation of titles, abstracts, keywords, contribution, professional affiliation and bibliographical references

Authors are recommended to propose specific and not too long titles in which the main idea of their article is conveyed.

The summaries must be based on the theme and indicate the proposed working hypotheses that are most original and that guide the reader.

The keywords, around 5 or 6, must refer both to aspects of context and to specific details that allow the proposed article to be located within the closest topics.

The order of signatures/affiliation in the article must respond to the effort and contribution of each of the authors in the manuscript.

The professional affiliation must indicate the specialization and the institution in which they carry out their professional and research activity.

And with regard to bibliographic references, it refers to the publication regulations for authors that appear on the OJS page of the journal.

 

Information about the types of articles considered by the journal, with a description of their content, format, length and writing style

All articles submitted to the journal for publication, both for the Dossier section and for the Studies section, must meet the same characteristics that are indicated in the Publication Regulations that all authors must take into account.

The works will be original and unpublished. The theme will deal with the areas of History, Geography and History of Art. The works will have an extension between 8,000 and 10,000 words. Texts may be presented in Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, English and Portuguese. The following information must appear on the first page: title of the article in Spanish/Catalan and English, followed by the name and surname(s) of the author(s), institution to which they belong and a contact email address. Next, a summary of 80/100 words, in the language of the article and in English, as well as 4 or 5 keywords in the same languages.

Manuscript metadata

The authors must enter all the metadata of the article, such as title, abstract, keywords, language, discipline, citations, etc., as well as declare, where appropriate, support or public or private financing of the investigation.
Likewise, they must include the following information of the author, author or authors (of each and every one of those who sign the article):
• Full name
• Email
• Institutional affiliation
• ORCID URL
• Brief biographical note of each author or authors, with a maximum length of 200 words.
