Resum

Aquest estudi adopta un enfocament basat en corpus per analitzar com s'emmarca metafòricament la menopausa en el discurs, en particular a través de la lent del llenguatge emocional negatiu. Utilitzant Wmatrix per a l'anàlisi de corpus, el nostre punt de partida van ser les etiquetes semàntiques de les emocions més freqüents i, a partir d'elles, extraiem i analitzem les expressions metafòriques relacionades amb diferents aspectes de la menopausa, com els seus processos biològics i els estats emocionals i mentals que se li associaven. El nostre propòsit és revelar els marcs metafòrics més destacats que emergeixen, avaluant la seua influència en la conceptualització de la menopausa i posant en relleu el seu impacte en les percepcions socials que provoquen. Els principals resultats posen en relleu quatre marcs dominants: la menopausa com a turbulència emocional, com a canvi disruptiu, com a conflicte hormonal i com a desafiament per a la identitat social i personal. L'estudi conclou que els marcs metafòrics dominants de la menopausa reforcen els estereotips sobre la dona en presentar aquesta etapa de la vida com a marcada per la confusió emocional, la pèrdua d'identitat i símptomes de tota mena, conformant així percepcions socials que simplifiquen en excés i tenyeixen negativament aquesta important transició vital.
