Manifestations of Violence Against Women. Narratives of University Students

Abstract
This study delves into the issue of intimate partner violence against women as experienced by young female university students in Chile, with a focus on psychological, physical, and sexual abuse. Drawing from 21 semi-structured interviews, that highlights the multifaceted nature of these experiences, which are part of a continuum that normalizes violence against women. Through a feminist lens, the various forms of aggression encountered by these young women are analyzed, and the factors inhibiting their reporting are explored. The study concludes that it is imperative to address gender violence within the specific contexts of different groups of women, which, in Chile, entails to taking into account specific cultural practices and legal frameworks.
