Abstract
In 1929 in the town of Llíria (Valencia), the establishment of a textile factory transformed the life trajectory of hundreds of women, as well as the urban planning, demography and economy of the town.The factory remained open until 1974, it had a mixed workforce, although the majority of the work force fell on women, who were stressed between a world that was modernizing and that included them in contractual relations, endowing them with a certain autonomy and the society that set guidelines for conduct determined by gender roles.
