Abstract
This article aims to analyse the constitution of the Movimiento de Regeneración Nacional (Morena) in Mexico, based on the role that Andres Manuel López Obrador has played in democratic politics from 2006 to the present. Through the lens offered by conceptual history, particularly Giuseppe Duso's and Bruno Karsenti's contributions, this article provides an analysis of the constitution of the movement and the extent to which their contributions help analyse some of the political dynamics that were originary of Mexico's current government Carlos Illades’s work will be a historical guide to elaborate an analysis of the different concepts of democracy that can be seen in present-day Mexico.
