Abstract

The Political Responsabilities Law in 1939 was a special legal instrument which allowed franquism to punish its oponents during the first years after the civil war. However most of the singularities that introduces instead of being something new, can be regarded as previous social measures, from the Inquisition’s time to the anti-liberal politics of Fernando VII. So that, franquism could be included on a previous and long repression tradition characterized by the infringiment of the most elemental legal rights.
