The circumstances surrounding the studies of the History of Astrology were particularly suitable for examing the complex framework of situations through wihch the intricate intellectual personality of Aby Warburg wended its way. The object of this essay is to throw light upon the importance of these studies in the early days of Iconology as a method of study of the History of Art.
