Dinámica comercial en la morería de Castelló desde mediados del siglo XV al primer tercio del XVI

Abstract

Inserted or integrated? In the XV th century the Moslems of Castelló, a minority group, lived with both the Jews and the Christians, members of the other two great religions. Their Aljama was established in the forties of that century, so that fact brought about alI a process of socio-cultural, political, ideological and also economical relations.
We try to show the Moslems’ commercial dynamics from the moment of their insertion in the village. For our purposes we observe their interest in the daily exchange and their progressive integration in the local production, above ah in the textil activity (the manufacture of flax) and the services given by their boticas.
