Article Processing and Publication Fees (APC)
Asparkía. Investigació Feminista does not charge any fees for article submission or publication. All content is published open access following the diamond open access model.
The journal does not accept funded thematic issues or conference proceedings. Proposals for thematic issues can be sent to asparkia@uji.es. Preference will be given to proposals where at least one of the coordinators is affiliated with a non-Spanish university.
The journal accepts articles in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
Frequency and Sections
Asparkía publishes two issues per year, in January and July. All issues are thematic. The Miscellaneous section is currently closed, with specific calls for papers being issued for future miscellaneous issues.
The Reviews section is not open for general submissions, and only reviews specifically commissioned by the editorial committee or guest editors of thematic issues are published. If you wish to propose a review, please contact asparkia@uji.es or the Reviews Editor, Dr. Purificació Mascarell (purificacio.mascarell@uv.es).
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to Asparkía. Investigació Feminista will only undergo confidential evaluation by two expert reviewers after receiving an initial positive assessment from the editorial committee or guest editors (in the case of thematic issues). Each issue publishes a maximum of 15 articles. Given the high volume of submissions received for each call for papers, the editors are responsible for conducting an initial editorial selection. Priority is given to manuscripts that are most thematically aligned with the issue, demonstrate a high degree of originality and methodological rigor, and contribute significantly to advancing knowledge in the field.
Before undergoing peer review, all submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software (Oxsico) and an artificial intelligence (AI) content detection tool. Any manuscript showing signs of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or AI-generated content will be immediately rejected.
Once a manuscript has passed the initial screening (editorial review and anti-plagiarism/AI detection checks), it is sent for double-blind peer review by two external experts. Articles will not be assigned to reviewers from the same institution as the author(s) or when a conflict of interest may exist. In cases where the two review reports show significant discrepancies, a third blind review is requested.
A second round of evaluation is required when major changes are suggested. The article will only be accepted once the author(s) submit a revised version along with a detailed response to reviewers' comments, and the editorial team verifies that all necessary modifications have been made and that the manuscript meets the journal’s quality standards. Authors receive reasoned review reports from all reviewers involved in the peer review process.
Submissions that do not comply with the journal’s formatting and editorial guidelines will be returned to the authors for correction before proceeding to external evaluation.
