L’«estil senzill» de Ióssipos Missiódax: primer avantpassat de la katharévussa neohel·lènica
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article studies the failed attempt by the Greek-speaking Vlach intellectual Iosipos Moisiodax to create a new written Modern Greek koine, that would be more accessible than the Atticist Greek and would overcome the narrow horizons of the 18th century conservative Greek-Orthodox paideía. This Iosipos Moisiodax «simple style» constitutes the most immediate precedent of the later katharevousa or the archaizing purist Modern Greek language that became the official language and the vehicular language of culture in the future Kingdom of Greece (1832).
