Thematic cultures in scientific articles on advertising. Anglosphere vs. Hispanosphere
Main Article Content
Abstract
The focused objective is about the existence and degree of thematic difference in scientific articles on advertising, in academic fields culturally defined by the English and Spanish languages. Two different methodologies are applied regarding the choice of the corpus for bibliometrics, with results exploited through different analysis techniques, manual and automated: inductive content analysis and latent semantic analysis. The results have been compared to produce evidence on the sought objective, and generate these conclusions: the dominant themes in the Anglosphere refer mainly to the generation of knowledge basic and applied, at the service of the optimal connection between advertising strategy and digital media, while in the Hispanosphere questions of knowledge prevail about the problematic aspects of advertising activity related to vulnerable social groups, but local markets, institutional implications are also dealt with and legal, and university academic self-reflection.
