Resum

Este artigo analisa o assim chamado Relevo de Messene, buscando conectar sua iconografia à descrição de uma caçada entre Alexandre Magno e Crátero registrada por Plutarco. Será argumentado que o relevo pode ter sido comissionado pelo filho de Crátero durante as primeiras décadas do século III a.C., de forma a legitimar sua posição como regente na Grécia.
