Resumo

Porcine cattle is an important chapter in the medieval domestic economy in Castellón, not only as food but also as casg resource. Excess in the size of cattle brings some problems like the lack of pastures and dammages to crops. This leads to limit the number of animals per neighbour and close sorne places for periods of the year for some farrnings. This cattle, ont the other side, generated tax incomes for the comrnunity. Herd of swines keeping was ruled by authorities and was generally given to children. There was also in Castellón and many others villages a communal herd of swine.
