Resumen
El temor británico a una posible revolución en España fue una constante durante el período de la II República. Esta inquietud llevó a Gran Bretaña a equiparar la llegada del sistema político republicano con la Revolución rusa. Los funcionarios del Foreign Office encargados de los asuntos de España se caracterizaron por un anticomunismo que influyó en la posición sobre el conflicto español del primer ministro Baldwin y de Eden, secretario de Estado para Asuntos Exteriores. En consecuencia, el Gobierno británico no permitió la ayuda a la República española y favoreció la política de no intervención en el conflicto.
