Preocupaciones climáticas «bajo los escombros»: Representación discursiva del terremoto entre Turquía y Siria

Existe una gran cantidad de investigaciones sobre cómo los medios de comunicación cubren los desastres medioambientales y, por lo tanto, articulan las preocupaciones climáticas. Sin embargo, hay una falta de estudios sobre cómo los medios de comunicación presentaron discursivamente el terremoto de 2023 que tuvo lugar en Turquía y Siria. Para abordar esta laguna, el estudio busca investigar cómo los medios de comunicación seleccionados expresaron las preocupaciones climáticas durante el evento sísmico. Para ello, analizamos las noticias publicadas por los principales medios de comunicación. El estudio utilizó instrumentos de métodos mixtos para correlacionar las preocupaciones climáticas específicas y su representación. Examinamos cualitativamente las palabras clave obtenidas «terremoto», «sacudida» y «escombros», centrándonos en las estrategias de nominación y predicación empleadas para su encuadre discursivo. Nuestra investigación revela una tendencia general de los tres medios de comunicación a poner el énfasis discursivo en una escala de repercusiones más inmediata (víctimas, destrucción, esfuerzos de rescate). Las cuestiones más globales relacionadas con el clima podrían requerir más atención.
