Estrés psicològic dels intèrprets simultanis d'àrab

Resum
Aquesta investigació examina l'estrès psicològic a què s'enfronten els intèrprets que dominen el binomi de llengües àrab <> anglès. Mitjançant una enquesta de cinc punts, l'estudi intenta determinar les percepcions d'aquests intèrprets simultanis sobre els elements que els estressen més durant els seus compromisos professionals. Els resultats posen en relleu que els principals factors desencadenants de l'estrès són una remuneració insuficient, un sentit més gran de la responsabilitat pel contingut interpretat i la manca de cooperació de la clientela privada. Alhora, aproximadament dos terços dels factors d'estrès identificats generen nivells moderats d'estrès; entre ells s'inclouen les terminologies especialitzades, la visibilitat inadequada de l'orador i la necessitat de viatjar amb freqüència, entre molts altres factors. A més, les manifestacions mèdiques d'aquest estrès són sobretot la irritació de coll, caracteritzada per sequedat i mals de cap, seguida de problemes de concentració, somnolència, mal d'esquena, fatiga, irritació ocular i taxes mínimes d'insomni. Les implicacions d'aquesta investigació podrien contribuir significativament al conjunt de coneixements existents sobre la dinàmica de l'estrès en els àmbits de la traducció i la interpretació, així com abordar les preocupacions centrades a l'ésser humà en el context de la interpretació judicial.
