The submission of manuscripts is subject to the journal’s policy and scope:
The papers published in kult-ur fundamentally address the progress of science in the fields of culture, education and local development, and give preference to the dissemination of original research results. kult-ur accepts contributions from experts and researchers from all over the world and promotes the exchange of approaches, reflection and communication in its three abovementioned areas of study. (See About the journal)

kult-ur accepts original research articles for the indexed sections Àgora (monographic) and Extramurs; reports for the Stoa section (non-indexed); and bibliographic reviews for the Biblos section (non-indexed). (See Section Policy)
Authors wishing to submit their manuscripts must first register with the journal through the Register link.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check that their submission complies with all the items on the Submission Preparation Checklist. Submissions that do not meet these guidelines will be returned to authors.

The criteria for publication in kult-ur are listed below.

Acceptance of texts and editorial commitment

1. All unpublished manuscripts that represent significant contributions to the thematic areas of the journal (see About the journal) will be considered for publication. Any text that plagiarises other works will not be evaluated. The journal uses the  Oxsico, software to detect plagiarism or self-plagiarism. No fees are charged for processing (APC) or publication of articles.
2. Manuscript submission: to submit original manuscripts to kult-ur, you must register as a user of the journal’s website at e-revistes.uji.es, which uses the OJS platform. Manuscripts submitted by email will not be accepted. For queries about the manuscript submission process, please write to kult-ur@uji.es or, in the case of submissions to the Àgora section, contact the coordinators of the current call through their email addresses.
3. kult-ur will contact authors by email to confirm reception of their manuscript within one month; authors will be informed whether their work is accepted or rejected for publication within a maximum period of one year. Authors can track the evaluation and acceptance/rejection process through the web platform, and in the case of acceptance, the next steps in the publishing process.
4. Manuscripts will be scientifically and anonymously evaluated by a minimum of two external reviewers who will produce a report. On the basis of these external reports, a decision will be made on whether to carry out another round of review or to accept/reject the articles for publication; the reports will also indicate any modifications to be made, if appropriate. The journal will inform authors of the editors’ decision and send the reviewers’ reports once the review process has been completed; a deadline will be established for the submission of a revised version of the manuscript with the recommended improvements or responses, if necessary.
5. kult-ur does not undertake to publish contributions received for the sole reason that they have been submitted. If a manuscript has superficial formal deficiencies, the Digital Edition Team will inform the author so that they can be corrected. The date of reception will be taken as the date on which the manuscript is received in an acceptable condition. Authors are kindly requested to read carefully the basic criteria for the submission of proposals and to make use of the text formatting templates. In the event that the paper does not fit the scope and thematic focus of the publication or has serious formal deficiencies, the Digital Edition Team of the journal will inform the author and will reject the manuscript without peer review.
6. By submitting a manuscript for publication, the author implicitly authorises kult-ur to reproduce it for the shortest possible period of time.
7. kult-ur does not make any financial remuneration for the articles it publishes.
8. By submitting a contribution to kult-ur, the author undertakes that it is submitted exclusively to kult-ur for evaluation and that it is not under consideration by any other publication.

2. kult-ur will select the texts to be published according to the editorial criteria of the journal:

-Impact: topicality and novelty; originality of the contribution; relevance and significance in the advancement of scientific knowledge.

-Scientific reliability and validity: proven methodological quality.

3. Articles will be published in the original language chosen by the author – Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English – and in the translations into other languages provided by the author. kult-ur is only responsible for the translation of the abstract into the two publication languages, Catalan and Spanish.

4. Two versions of the article must be submitted for the Àgora or Extramurs sections:

a. One version as the author(s) would like it to be published, including all the required authorship data (name and surname(s), affiliation/position, email, ORCID URL) and full references to other works by the manuscript’s authors, if applicable.

b. An anonymised version that guarantees blind peer review, in which all references that allow direct identification of authorship or inference of their identity are deleted or replaced, by eliminating the required authorship data in the publication version and in the body of the article, references, footnotes, etc. Example: [AUTHORS; Reference removed to ensure authors’ anonymity].

-In any case, the kult-ur Digital Publishing Team will review the anonymisation of manuscripts.

5. Manuscripts must be submitted in Times New Roman 11-point font, justified without first line indentation, single-spaced in the body; they must follow the formatting model of the Word template that corresponds to each section for the rest of the elements:

- Àgora/Extramurs scientific articles template(download here)
- Stoa reports template (download here)
- Biblos reviews template (download here)

6. The total length will be a maximum of 40,000 characters (spaces included) for the Àgora section; 40,000 characters for Extramurs, 21,000 characters for Stoa and 10,500 characters for Biblos.

a. A title (with optional subtitle) in the original language and in English (or in Spanish, if the original language is English), written concisely but containing as many significant and informative terms as possible and no longer than 80 characters with spaces. kult-ur may modify the title with the authors’ agreement.
b. An abstract of the article (maximum 200 words) in the original language and in English (or in Spanish if the original language is English), concisely describing the aim of the research, its methodology, the most important results and the main conclusions. It should be written impersonally (e.g., "The present study...; This work...") and have the following structure: justification of the topic, objectives, methodology of the study, results and conclusions.
c. Four or five key words capturing the main themes of the article in the original language and in English (or in Spanish if the original language is English). The use of standardised descriptors such as those found in the UNESCO Thesaurus is recommended. Terms should be in standardised scientific Spanish/English.

-Machine translations should be avoided to ensure higher quality translations and to facilitate the work of the Review Team.

8. Research articles submitted to the Àgora/Extramurs sections must follow the following structure:

a. Introduction and state of the art: statement of the foundations and purpose of the study, and a review of the most significant literature on the subject with bibliographical citations.

c. Analysis and results: presentation and description of the most relevant observations, the materials and methods used, and the most significant results of the research, without value judgements.
d. Discussion and conclusions: summary of the main findings of the work and their relationship with other studies of interest, indicating their contributions and limitations but without repeating previously presented data, and the relationship between the conclusions and the objectives of the study based on the data provided.

9. All pages of the original must be numbered, and should include photographs, graphs, tables and the strictly essential endnotes presented according to the Chicago Author-Date style. All tables and graphs must be correctly numbered (Roman numerals for tables and Arabic numerals for graphs) and accompanied by a concise title explaining their content. 10. Bibliographical references should be inserted in the body of the document, with the author’s first surname in lower case, followed by the year and page of publication indicated in brackets, e.g.: (Tonucci, 2000:31). All references in the bibliography must have a corresponding reference in the text, and any original statements in the article made by another author must be referenced in the bibliography. All bibliographical references must be identified at the end of the document in alphabetical order and in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA 7th ed.) style. Website addresses should be provided for references where possible.

11. The text file (or files) must be uploaded to the platform in Word format; the file name should be no longer than ten letters, with no signs or numbers.

To detail the individual contribution of each author, it is recommended to follow the CRediT taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy).

The journal also reminds authors that authorship is linked to compliance with the principles established in the good practice guides of the Vancouver standards, the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Code of Good Practice in Research and Doctoral Studies (CGPID) of the Universitat Jaume I.
