Abstract

The aim of this article is to determine the values of the proper noun vocative in the conflictive conversation of sentimental couples. It is assumed that conflictive communicative exchanges in couples are a linguistic reflection of their relational behavior. To analyze these vocative values, a corpus of spontaneous conversations of five spontaneous couples was used. show that the vocative has contextual values and, in couple disputes, acts as a regulator of interaction as well as an index of the epistemic stance of the speakers.
