La construcción de la identidad narrativa a través de las «historias de vida mediáticas». Un análisis generacional

Abstract
Resumen: En este artículo empírico se exponen resultados de un estudio cualitativo con historias de vida mediáticas. El principal objetivo de esta investigación es explorar cómo tres generaciones socializan y se identifican respecto a los medios de comunicación, en la ciudad de Barcelona (España), a través de sus narraciones biográficas. En primer lugar, se analiza cómo los sujetos entrevistados construyen y proyectan su identidad narrativa o yo a través del lenguaje. En segundo lugar, se cuestiona la incidencia de los contenidos o representaciones mediáticas en sus temas de interés. En tercer lugar, se explora cuáles son sus procesos de identificación con personajes mediáticos. En cuarto lugar, se investigan las formas de socialización e interacción propuestas por los entrevistados respecto a los medios. Este artículo revalida la idea de que la identidad es una construcción narrativa y comunicativa que está determinada en gran medida por los productos culturales y mediáticos.

Abstract: This paper presents the results of a qualitative study focused on media life stories. The main aim of this piece of research is to explore how three generations socialize with the media in the city of Barcelona, Spain. Firstly, we analyze how the respondents construct and project their narrative identity. Secondly, we discuss the impact of media representations in their favourite media topics. Thirdly, we explore what are the processes of identification regarding media characters. Fourthly, forms of socialization and interaction proposed by respondents regarding the media are investigated. This article validates the idea that identity is a narrative and communicative construction that is largely determined by cultural and media products.
