Culture, Language and Representation (CLR) is a publication of the Department of European Philology and Cultures and the Department of English Studies of Universitat Jaume I de Castelló that addresses the study of linguistics, language, literature and philology in a multidisciplinary environment. CLR is an academic publication that seeks to promote the dissemination of texts of a high academic level and of maximum theoretical rigour. To achieve this goal, the Journal is organised in four sections: management, secretariat, editorial board and advisory board. The quality of texts is promoted through the establishment of double-blind peer review.

Culture, Language and Representation uses plagiarism detection and self-plagiarism software Oxsico managed through the Library Service of the Jaume I University.

The Journal, which has been published with an annual monograph since its origin in 2004, has become a biannual publication since 2016 and dedicates the November issue to a thematic volume.

CLR seeks the integration and participation of all groups and members involved in the project with the intention of promoting academic excellence. As a guide to rigorous work, the Journal’s guidelines are inspired by the ethical foundations of the Committee on Publications Ethics (COPE).

At the same time, CLR has been incorporated since 2011 into the Open Journal System (OJS) platform for the purpose of completing the double-blind peer review process, and of being an immediate open-access journal following the publication of each issue.

Currently, the journal has reviewers of a high academic level both internal and external to the university where the Journal is published. The aim is to ensure that any author who submits a proposal will be evaluated on the grounds of academic quality. CLR is committed to finding the assignment of at least one reviewer per work outside Jaume I University.

CLR and its team promote honest, transparent and truthful research, and rejects any practice of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, forgery and fraudulent use of data. CLR also assumes responsibility and commitment in each of the processes, since the receipt of the text to its final publication.

CLR invites publishers, authors, and reviewers to read role-specific ethical codes to understand the specific responsibilities of participating as an editor, author, and reviewer.

The Journal follows the same ethical and best practice code that RECERCA Revista de Pensament I Anàlisi of the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at Universitat Jaume I (authors, reviewers, editors), as well as the Code of Good Practice in Research and Doctoral Studies of the Universitat Jaume I.

CLR follows the Reglamento General de Protección de Datos (RGPD) (European Parlament Regulation (UE) 2016/679 and European Council).
