Submission Guidelines

When submitting an article, please ensure it is assigned to the appropriate section. Follow the instructions and template you will find here.

Articles

This is the main section of the journal, structured around thematic issues. Each thematic issue is guest-edited by experts in a specific field and is announced twice a year through a call for papers. Submitted articles undergo an initial review by the guest editors to determine their relevance to the issue’s theme, originality, and theoretical and methodological rigor. Only those articles approved by the guest editors proceed to a double-blind peer review. For any inquiries regarding thematic issues, you may contact the guest editors for the respective issue; their contact details are provided in the call for contributions.

Miscellaneous (Closed)

Previously, the Miscellaneous section complemented the thematic issues. From 2025 onwards, thematic issues and miscellaneous issues will alternate, with the latter being announced through a dedicated call for papers. Any submissions to this section while there is no open call for Miscellaneous will be declined.

For the Miscellaneous issues, priority will be given to articles that present original perspectives and contribute significantly to advancing knowledge in the field, adopting a broader approach than those featured in thematic issues. Articles in this section must address current issues in feminist theory and gender studies. Submissions undergo an initial evaluation by the editorial committee before proceeding to a double-blind peer review. Only articles that demonstrate a strong foundation in gender studies or feminist theory, along with high theoretical and methodological rigor, will be considered for publication in the Miscellaneous issues.

Reviews

The Reviews section features critical analyses of books published within the last two years that address topics of interest in gender studies and feminist theory. This section is not open for general submissions; reviews are commissioned by the editorial committee or the guest editors of thematic issues. If you wish to propose a review, please contact Dr. Purificació Mascarell (purificacio.mascarell@uv.es), the Reviews Editor, or the editorial committee (asparkia@uji.es).
