Abstract

María Ana de Baviera, cultured and pious woman, neither queen nor empress, has gone almost unnoticed by Historiography. Luckily, the artistic legacy leaves us its memory in a unique engraving by Johan Sadeler governed under the construction of the Musical Emblematic dedicated to the future wife of Ferdinand II of Habsburg, which translates into a revival of power, fervor, and music that gave expression to a similarity of life in the court of Bavaria, to which renowned artists went in search of patronage impregnating the dukedom with the new creative spirits.
