Abstract
This article deals with the study of the canvas The Sacrifice of Isaac by Jerónimo Jacinto de Espinosa (ca. 1640), which is currently in the Royal Parish of San Andrés in Valencia. From a culturalist perspective, it analyzes the concretion of the iconic configuration from the conventionalized cultural tradition in both its visual and written aspects. Its main purpose is to highlight the work of the Alicante artist by carrying out an iconographic analysis that allows access to the function that it had in the cultural context of the Valencian seventeenth century.
