Fidei defensores. Arte y poder en tiempos de conflicto religioso en la Inglaterra Tudor. Enrique VIII y María I y Felipe II

Resumen
Enrique VIII consiguió en 1521 el título de defensor de la fe. De origen católico, la intitulación adquirió en su reinado carácter protestante, en relación con la fundación de la iglesia de Inglaterra y quedó ligada a sus sucesores. Por ello, en tiempos de María Tudor, el título regresó a su origen católico con más fuerza si cabe. Recorremos en este texto el uso de propagandístico del apelativo «fidei defensor» en relación con las artes en un contexto de conflicto religioso, entre Enrique VIII y María Tudor. Su esposo, Felipe II, seguirá empleando el título inglés en otro ámbito, el de la lucha contra el enemigo turco.
