1. Focus and Scope

The papers published in kult-ur fundamentally address the progress of science in the fields of culture, education and local development, and give preference to the dissemination of original research results. kult-ur accepts contributions from experts and researchers from all over the world and promotes the exchange of approaches, reflection and communication in the three abovementioned areas of study.

kult-ur considers original papers submitted for evaluation in Catalan, Spanish, Portuguese, French and English. Submissions must include an abstract in the original language and in English and, if accepted, kult-ur will translate the abstract into the two publication languages, Catalan and Spanish, when necessary. The main version of each paper will be published in the language chosen by the author.

2. Peer review process

Articles are selected following a blind peer review process; the review team informs the editors on their suitability for publication.

kult-ur has an Advisory Board (Scientific Committee) made up of international researchers including professionals, doctors, teachers and professors from various educational levels and specialties that guide and evaluate the papers the journal receives. The Advisory Board provides scientific endorsement and international outreach for the journal.

In addition to its own editorial tasks, the Editorial Team issues reports, proposes topics and evaluates original manuscripts.

Finally, the Review Team assesses the manuscripts considered for publication through blind peer review (two reviewers per manuscript).

Information for authors and journal collaborators on the manuscript review process, criteria, procedures, review plan and the overall editorial calendar:

1) Preliminary original manuscript submission stage (before the close of the call for papers);

2) Manuscripts are reviewed and authors informed of acceptance or rejection (maximum two months from the close of the call);

3) Pre-publication editing of manuscripts (maximum five months).

3. Ethical standards and good practice guidelines during the editing process

kult-ur is committed to ethical principles and best practice guidelines, based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors

The final decision to publish a paper rests with kult-ur’s management and editorial team. Recommendations from the Review Team are decisive, but not binding, in this decision.

No member of the journal’s staff will disclose information about a manuscript received to anyone who is not directly involved in the editorial process, i.e. authors, potential reviewers or other publishers.

Any person connected with kult-ur who has access to unpublished papers submitted to the journal will not use any content from that original manuscript in their own research. In any case, the express authorisation and consent of the authors is required.

kult-ur rejects any practice of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification and fraudulent use of data. It also assumes responsibility for each of the processes, from the reception of the text to its final publication. kult-ur uses the plagiarism and self-plagiarism detection software Oxsico managed through the Universitat Jaume I Library Service.

4. Frequency of publication
