Conflictos ambientales o cosmopolítica en el Delta paranaense
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article attempts to review the forms assumed by the presentation of an environmental conflict in the Paraná River Delta region. The consolidation of the Wetland as a category has been fundamental in the emergence of narratives about the need for its conservation and sustainable use. In these terms, an institutional language based on Wetlands was generated, which has been part of intense political disputes in the search for its regulation. Here I will try to reconstruct some of these processes, adding, from ethnographic work, reflections on techniques and experiences of people who live daily in these areas. I am particularly interested in thinking contrastively from a local category, the Island, thus problematizing the ways in which the problem is defined in socio-environmental terms in the political arena. Following Isabelle Stengers' proposal, we ask ourselves what does it imply to think of the Island as a cosmopolitical proposition?
