As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.
  • Whenever possible, URLs are provided for references.
  • The proposal is presented using the journal publication Template. It is essential that you follow the instructions here and do not alter the fonts.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Publication Guidelines, which appear in Author Guidelines.
  • It must be ensured that the document is completely anonymous and that the reviewers (blind peer review) will not identify who the authorship belongs to (do not include your personal data, avoid naming research projects in which you collaborate, etc.).
  • You must enter the article metadata (title, abstract, keywords, etc.) in both English and Spanish in the third step of the submission process.

Multiple authorship. In the case that the article presented is signed by more than one author, the criteri chosen to decide the order of signature must be informed, as well as explain what the especific contribution made by each of the authors of te work has been.

The use of inclusive language in the articles submitted for review is recommended, giving priority to the use of the specific recommendations contained in the Guide to Non-sexist Treatment of Administrative Language of the Universitat Jaume I. Likewise, Diferents requires information on whether the data from the origin of the research take into account sex, in order to allow the identification of possible differences.

Diferents. Revista de museus, and its team, promote an honest, transparent and truthful investigation, rejecting any practice of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, falsification or fraudulent use of data. Throughout the editorial process the articles will be reviewed prior to their acceptance through the Oxsico program, managed through the Library Service of the Universitat Jaume I.

Diferents. Revista de museus only accepts original and unpublished works. Therefore, does not take any plagiarism, as well as self-plagiarism practices that do not correctly identify the source in a footnote and exceed 15% of the total content of the work.

Authors are recommended to deposit complementary material, at laest the research data underlying the publications, in institutional or thematic repositories of open access federated in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

Authors with links to the UJI may deposit their research data in the Repository of the Universitat Jaume I. More information at https://www.uji.es/serveis/cd/bib/serveis/investigacio/dades/

Information on the repository of research data should be mentioned in the article, by describing the type of data deposited and the repository URL or identifier code.

All authors are required to state what financial support they have received to carry out their investigation. Financial support, from both public and private entities, that has existed for data collection, analysis or interpretation of the results or even for the drafting of the text of the article should be clearly indicated at the time of submission. Each author must declare individually all information concerning sources of funding received for the research submitted to this journal. This information must be declared in two different sections:

In metadata: when entering article metadata, this information must be included. The complete reference (name of the funder, ID of the funder, grant number) must be entered in the metadata section «Fund data».

In the article: it will be indicated in a footnote at the end of the title of the article, by an asterisk and not by a consecutive numbering. At the time of submitting the article to the evaluation, this reference must respect the requirement of anonymity and a formula such as: * «This article belongs to project xxxx, ref. yyyy»

For the authors who have published in an issue of Diferents. Revista de museus it is established a waiting period of two consecutive years to be able to resubmit another proposal.

Diferents. Revista de museus publishes a total of eight articles per issue. The criterion for publication is the date of submission. When an article is accepted and exceeds the number of articles to be published, it wil be left in serve for the next issue, informing the author.
