Audience Engagement and Digital Narratives in the Museum Field

Abstract

This study seeks to confirm the hypothesis that including digital tools and narratives contributes to generating greater engagement between museums and specific audience profiles. To this end, the cultural consumer profile is defined, the main strategies to study this audience are explained and the potential of digital storytelling in the museum field is clarified through a bibliographical study and best practices.

Author Biography

Beatriz Mocchi, Universidad de Málaga

Graduated in Philosophy from the University of Navarre and Master in Cultural Management from the International University of Catalonia. He combines his work as a teacher with his doctoral studies in Communication at the University of Malaga, where he specializes in the development of new audiences for the cultural sector. As a researcher, and especially after her time at the Interarts Foundation (2020-21), she seeks to put cultural rights at the center of her research, delving especially into the relationship of «unusual» audiences-as elderly, adolescents, or people at risk of social exclusion- with cultural heritage.
