Abstract

The emergence of new forms of visual expression such as «Comic book documentaries» or «Web documentaries», claiming membership in the field of documentary while not related with the photographic image or not having a clear link with photography, requires a reconsideration of the relationships between photographic phenomenon and documentary mode. To this end, the text explores the documentary function in the so-called post-truth era, working with the concepts of pre- and post-photography. At the same time, a new ontology of photography based on its transcendental relations with vision is proposed.
