Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article, firstly, I want to present an analytical framework where the Agenda for Peace by Boutros Boutros Gahli and its main dimensions concerning the post-war reconstruction will be the central focus. From these preliminary considerations I intend to analyse Timor-Leste as the youngest Nation-State of the world after having suffered a 24 years occupation and neo-colonial war. At the second part, I aim to outline a comprehensive analysis about Timor-Leste through its women's situation, role and their contributions during the war and post-war period in a post-colonial context. The present challenge is to try the construction of another narrative about the Nation-State. This narrative other, grounds on what has been named and considered as amargin and in this case the women of a subaltern country. Conjugating theoretical and empirical analysis I present a reflexive path on the necessity of the inclusion of the perspectives, knowledge and women's experiences within a democratic and pacific Nation building. In this way I propose a critical hermeneutics of the International Relations.
