About the Journal
Focus and Scope
RECERCA is a 6-monthly open-access journal that is periodically published twice yearly (April and October). It is a publication based on double blind peer reviews in the Department of Philosophy and Sociology of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón (Spain). RECERCA attempts to attract top-quality scientific articles by national and international researchers from the philosophy and critical sociology field.
RECERCA is a journal that publishes about topical social issues and problems, which are examined from critical sociology, the democracy theory, political philosophy and applied ethics. The journal team carries out a prior editorial review of each paper received. In the case of passing this phase, the proposal is submitted to a double-blind peer review process. In this process, the journal will send the work to at least two external reviewers. Only those papers that achieve a very positive evaluation in terms of thoroughness and originality are accepted for publication.
Open Access Policy
The journal is committed to open access diamond route. That is, there are no costs for authors to publish in our journal (i.e. we do not require APC for the publication of articles in RECERCA). In addition, the papers are available to readers free of charge. In this way, RECERCA provides immediate access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater exchange of global knowledge. By open access we mean making it freely available on the Internet for all users to read, download, copy, distribute or print, with the possibility to search or link to the full text of the article, use it for any other legal purpose, without any financial, legal or technical barriers other than the fundamental one of accessing the Internet. The only limit to reproduction and distribution and the only function of copyright in this context is to guarantee authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be acknowledged and cited, covered by internationally recognised Creative Commons licences.

Gender Equality Policy
Recerca. Revista de Pensament i Anàlisi is committed to promoting gender equality, making women's scientific work more visible, and encouraging the use of inclusive language in scientific publications. Specifically, through the following actions:
• Regarding research: Authors are encouraged to consider, where relevant, the inclusion of a gender perspective throughout the research process. This involves reflecting on the relevance of sex-gender variables from the research design stage, ensuring that study questions, objectives, and hypotheses take into account possible differences or inequalities based on gender. In methodology, it is recommended to disaggregate data by sex/gender and justify sample selection. In presenting results, it is important to analyze and report potential variations between groups, highlighting relevant differences. In the discussion, authors are encouraged to interpret findings in light of structural and contextual gender-related factors and to consider how these may influence the observed results.
• Maintaining a gender balance in the composition of the journal’s editorial team.
• Ensuring that at least 40% of reviewers are women for submitted manuscripts.
• Encouraging the use of inclusive language in submitted articles, prioritizing the specific recommendations outlined in the Guide to Inclusive and Non-Sexist Language. Additionally, Recerca requires that researchers specify whether their data collection considers sex in order to identify potential differences.
• Including the full names of authors in the published works.
