Rutas raras y objetos ciegos. Una aproximación desde el arte a las cadenas de suministro tecnológico
Main Article Content
Abstract
Contrary to the widespread idea of the “black box”, this text examines the concept that technological devices operate more like “blind objects.” It draws on the artistic experience “Strange Routes: Mapping Technology,” developed in 2023 across two art spaces in the province of Barcelona. This project seeks to reveal the global supply chains behind some of the technological devices present in artistic and cultural spaces that enable the functioning of an exhibit or installation. The resulting opacities, blurrings, and entanglements highlight the difficulty of approaching these devices despite an apparent transparency, raising questions about the role that cultural institutions play regarding the technology they use.
