Abstract

RESUMEN

El presente artículo da cuenta de la manera en que fue gestado el Museo de Arte de Pereira. Analiza los rasgos fundacionales que permitieron a las mujeres ser las encargadas de consolidar este emprendimiento cultural en una ciudad latinoamericana que goza del privilegio de conformar el paisaje cultural cafetero. También dialoga acerca de la colección de arte colombiano y latinoamericano que alberga en su depósito, a partir de una revisión juiciosa y creativa desde la cual se pone en valor la apertura del museo a diferentes propuestas artísticas.

ABSTRACT

This article discusses how the Museum of Art of Pereira was created. It analyzes the foundational features that allowed women to be in charge of consolidating this cultural enterprise in a Latin American city that enjoys the privilege of forming part of the cultural landscape of coffee in the region. It also talks about the collection of Colombian and Latin American art that is safe guarded, based on a judicious and creative review from which the opening of the museum to diferent artistic proposals is valued.
